First Annual School Supply Drive

Providing Equity and Resources

This year, we have had the honor to provide school supplies for the Escuela Lucy Grillasca located in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Arayeke was able to crowdfund over $1,300 for school supplies with the help of Tribal member and alumni of the Lucy School, Jesenia Valdez. Tribal member Christina Labrador, who has paternal ties to the Municipality of Ponce, hosted a virtual concert where she was able to raise $800 to donate to the first annual school supply fund as well.

The Lucy Grillasca school is home to approximately 240 elementary students.

Any left over funds from this year's fundraiser will go to additional resources or needs for schools located in Puerto Rico, Scholarship opportunities, or towards next years purchase of supplies for Puerto Rico.

Scholarship Program

Empowering The Future

As a community rooted in bringing change, raising awareness and providing cultural continuity for future generations to come, AraYeke has taken the initiative to create The Indigenous Cultural Continuity Scholarship

Our mission in providing this scholarship is to focus on bringing representation, assistance and support to our underrepresented, indigenous students who are connected to and rooted in their indigenous cultures, or looking to bridge that connection, become active in maintaining their culture and build a sense of pride.

We hope to add one new school to our scholarship recipient list every year.

Seed Banking

Helping Those Who Need Us Most

The goal of our seed banking program is to be able to provide a means of food sovereignty for communities and families across the US and our relative Indigenous communities in the Caribbean.

We are still in the early stages of acquiring seeds, and ensuring the seeds we do have can be propagated however we hope that over the next 2-3 years we have enough seeds to begin sharing with our tribal relatives, communities and relative tribes as well as enough to reserve in the "Seed Bank" for future generations.
